The skinny drop shot is the rock shape. Where a tear drop sits wide and can jam between chunk rock, the narrow cylindrical body slips back out of the crevice it dropped into, so you spend the day fishing instead of re-tying.
At 1/8 oz it is the light end of the range — enough to hold a nose-hooked minnow bait directly under the boat, light enough that the bait still looks unweighted to a fish that has already seen a dozen baits that day.
Built from the same 97% tungsten alloy as the rest of the line — around 1.6 times the density of lead, so the same weight takes up roughly 37% less volume, and every tick of the bottom comes straight up the line. The EdgeGuard No-Chip finish keeps it from flaking against rock, and the size is laser-engraved on the weight so you can find it by eye in the tray.

Questions, answered
What size drop shot weight should I start with?
3/16 or 1/4 oz is the everyday starting point in shallow to mid depths. 3/8 oz is the one most anglers reach for in deep water, wind or current, where a lighter weight lets your line bow and you lose contact with the bait.
Skinny or tear drop?
Skinny is the rock shape. The narrow body slides back out of a crevice it dropped into instead of wedging, so it is the one for chunk rock and rip rap. The tear drop is wider and sits more stably, which suits sand, gravel and cleaner bottom.
What is a closed eye for?
An open eye lets you pinch the line in and change weights in seconds without re-tying. A closed eye has to be tied to, but it cannot slip off on a hard hookset, which is the trade-off you are choosing between.
What sizes do you stock?
1/8, 3/16, 1/4 and 3/8 oz, in skinny and tear drop, open and closed eye. 3/8 oz is our heaviest drop shot weight — for very heavy current some anglers go heavier still.
Will the finish chip?
Paint struggles to bond to tungsten because the metal is so hard, which is why cheap coated weights flake on the first rock. Ours carry the EdgeGuard No-Chip finish, and every weight has its size stamped into it, so a scuffed weight is still readable.
