Common questions

What size worm weight should I use for a Texas rig?

1/4 oz covers most of it. Drop to 1/8 or 1/16 oz in clear water, on a slow fall or over sparse cover, and step up to 5/16 or 1/2 oz for wind, depth or thicker grass.

What sizes do you stock?

1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16 and 1/2 oz. There is no 3/8 oz in our worm weight line — the ladder steps 1/4, 5/16, 1/2. If you specifically want 3/8 oz, our flipping weight in that size slides on a worm hook and fishes much the same way.

Should I peg the weight or let it slide?

Peg it when you are fishing cover and want the weight and bait to arrive together — grass, wood, anything the bait can separate behind. Leave it sliding on open bottom, where a free weight lets the bait drift down more naturally after it lands.

Why is tungsten smaller than the lead weight I am used to?

Our weights are a 97% tungsten alloy at roughly 18.0 g/cm3 against lead's 11.34, so about 1.6 times denser. The same ounce takes up around 37% less volume. Worth knowing that is volume, not length — the weight is roughly 14% shorter and narrower, not 37%.

Will the finish chip?

Paint struggles to bond to tungsten because the metal is so hard, which is why cheap coated weights flake on the first rock. Ours carry the EdgeGuard No-Chip finish, and every weight has its size stamped into it, so a scuffed weight is still readable.

Worm Weights

Tungsten Edge worm weights are built for anglers who demand sensitivity, durability, and a compact profile when fishing soft plastic worms. Made from 97% pure tungsten, our worm weights are significantly smaller than lead, allowing for better feel, cleaner presentations, and improved bottom contact when fishing Texas rigs and other finesse setups.

Designed with EdgeGuard™ No-Chip technology, these tungsten worm weights resist chipping and cracking, helping protect your line and maintain long-term performance. The insert-free, polished line channel reduces line wear while maximizing sensitivity, so you can feel subtle bites and changes in bottom composition with confidence.

Worm weights are a staple for Texas-rigged worms, creature baits, and compact soft plastics, especially when targeting bass around grass, rock, wood, and docks. Tungsten’s increased density allows your bait to fall faster and stay more compact, making it easier to slip through cover and maintain a natural presentation.

Available in multiple sizes — including popular options for finesse and power fishing — Tungsten Edge worm weights give anglers the flexibility to match weight size to depth, cover, and seasonal conditions.

Upgrade your worm fishing setup with premium tungsten weights designed to perform when it matters most.

No chip. No excuses.
